Putin kissed boy ‘like a kitten’
CNN.com | Thursday, July 6, 2006; Posted: 5:44 p.m. EDT (21:44 GMT)

MOSCOW, Russia (Reuters) — Vladimir Putin’s decision to stop a small boy as he walked through the Kremlin and kiss his stomach was prompted by a desire to “touch him like a kitten,” the Russian president said on Thursday.

The five-year-old boy, identified as Nikita Konkin by the press, was clearly stunned by the kiss and speculation over Putin’s motivation has run wild in the week since it happened.

Curious Internet users propelled the issue to the top of a list of questions put to Putin in an interactive Web cast.

“People came up and I began talking to them, among them this little boy. He seemed to me very independent, sure of himself and at the same time defenseless so to speak, an innocent boy and a very nice little boy,” Putin told the Web cast.

“I tell you honestly, I just wanted to touch him like a kitten and that desire of mine ended in that act.”

Mother Russia, you so crazy. No, seriously. Your land contains a number of people that are decidedly not sane. Sure, it’s an Eastern European country, where kisses are doled out by both sexes as a form of friendly greeting, but Putin wanted to kiss this unassuming wee lad in the same manner one would a kitten. Ah ha.
Hide your kittens! Hide your young boys! Just hide

Well played, France, but it appears that Italy is the Final Victor.

I was kinda torn there, as I like France as a country, but I fell in love with Juventus when I was first getting into footie a few years ago. Plus, Buffon is a pretty impressive keeper; at least when I’d seen him. Shame about Zidane being sent off, though. For a while, I actually thought France would take the Cup.. Nevertheless, an intense game!

FYI: the illos of the footie lasses (with the exception of the England one in the first post) were drawn by Kagami of Utility-pole spirit, and the CG Japanese lass in this post was done by M-RS of incise soul.

England in 2010, damnit!

It was an honourable defeat! Well, ish.

Four days left, people! If Italy walks home (not literally) with the Cup, that’d be fab, but if France does it, I’ll be surprised.. I’m still rooting for Germany, but Portugal might well snatch it from their respective grasps, and run away giggling! O NOES!!1!

Once again, my brain has shuddered to a near-complete halt. Hrm.
My wee Sidore-chan will be returning home from her West Coast spa-and-rehab holiday this week-end, which of course has me all a-dither, so expect a report on the English film crew’s second visit probably at the beginning of next week. And since the Missus will be back, don’t expect any posts out of me for a while, heh heh. 😉
In the meantime, here’s a filler post (meme airlifted from my friend Dave Z’s Out on the Fringes)

Go to Wikipedia and look up your birthday (excluding the year). List three neat facts, two births and one death in your journal, including the year.
Alright!

FACTS:
+ 1922 – The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) begins radio service in the United Kingdom.
+ 1969 – Apollo program: NASA launches Apollo 12, the second manned mission to the surface of the Moon.
+ 1978 – Jonestown Massacre: 913 people commit suicide by drinking a cyanide laced punch.

BIRTHS:
+ 1939 – Wendy Carlos, American composer
+ 1959 – Paul McGann, British actor

DEATHS:
+ 1915 – Booker T. Washington, American inventor, educator, and author (b. 1856)

The Deaths section was a hard choice, as Nell Gwynne and Saki were vying for the position, but inventors are always good, and the Births selections are unquestionably ace. But for my money, nothing beats having something like the Jonestown Massacre occur on your birthday

GRRR. Crazy game, though. In fact, that’s the longest match I’ve ever seen..

Well, if Germany wins the Cup, I’ll be happy. Not as happy as I’d be if Engerland won, but still

So yeah! Fellow iDollators Wanda, the RealDoll Doctor, and I have put in an appearance in the printed press yet again. Yes, again!

It may look like a fake magazine cover,
but no, it’s real

The article, ‘Love Dolls’ by Brittany Douziech, was conducted with us all via electrode mail a couple of months ago, and the end product is actually rather inoffensive!
If you’re ever wandering aimlessly on the California State University Northridge campus anytime soon, grab a copy; it’s the Spring/Summer 2006 issue. There’s an online version of Scene Magazine, but as of this writing, the site’s desperately under construction. Hrm. One would assume it’s a work in progress..

Also, I’m currently being interviewed by a reporter lass working on a RealDoll-related article for publication in, of all places, the United Arab Emirates. Who’d have guessed?
