We won’t forget you, though in violence you go,
As the wheels turned in the theatres below,
An escape from the ends never met,
In apartments with the lives not formed yet

    Desiree –
Now if I were to ever receive a closed-head injury, and suddenly want to have kids, they’d definitely have that in their wardrobe…

    SafeT
    …are you having a seizure?

What happened on that date? 😛

  5. Davecat writes:

That would be the date that Ian Curtis, twenty-three year old lead singer and songwriter of Joy division (pictured above), hanged himself in his home in Macclesfield, on the eve of what would’ve been the band’s first tour of the United States.

It’s been speculated that the reasons he did it were either because of his marriage falling apart due to an affair he was having, or fear of the band’s success getting out of hand, or his battle with epilepsy and the medications he was on to subdue it, but in the end, we’ll never know his true reasons. Fortunately, he left behind a legacy of fantastic music and powerfully introspective lyrics that will continue to enthrall for decades to come.

I do one of these posts every year on this date. Yes, I’m a huge Joy division fan. 🙂

Uh huh. Nice attempt at a save there, pal.

    Save wha–?
This was more an attempt to clarify my meaning.
Gropius is a dude I’m sure you like, and he also has a link to this date.

  9. Davecat writes:

O, you really did write that?? The way it was structured, it looked like one of those ‘like English, yet not English’ spam comments. I thought I was being spoofed, with a bot using your Eddress and whatnot! You gotta admit, ‘But here ut is of othr sadnesssssss’ is a wee bit suspect…

18 May 1883 – Walter Gropius dies, after swordfighting with a bear for nine hours

    Huh!
