After a hot day outside Yard Salin’ our few worldly belongings, we’re currently enjoying the glories of AC 🙂 Genevieve bought a window unit the other day. Perfect timing.

I’m surprised that you were able to find a window unit, if the heat in Cleveland’s been anything like it’s been here..

This house was built in the Thirties or thereabouts, and consequently, it’s pre-central air. We have a window unit upstairs in one of the bedrooms — not mine — but unfortunately, all the windows are french windows that open inward, as opposed to sliding up and down. It’s an otherwise aesthetically pleasing house, I just wouldn’t want to live there. Oops, too late for that! 😐
If we switch the airconditioning on and activate our myriad fans throughout the house early enough in the day, it’s somewhat bearable.
It’s not a patch on central air, however, but then again, what is?

Dcat – yea, we were lucky enough to find one of Genevieve’s co-workers who was selling one. We were going to wait until the move, in Aug/Sept, to buy it. But, in the end, the heat was too much and we got it early.
