A new post, in quotes

typed for your pleasure on 30 January 2005, at 6.23 am

Why was I not told about this?? This looks better than Charlie and the Chocolate factory, which already looks good as it is. I’m excited. Are you excited?

Okay, so I’ve not posted in a while. I have to remedy that. Maybe tomorrow I’ll provide some sort of ersatz update as to my life & recent livelihood, but since there really hasn’t been a whole hell of a lot going on with me lately, I’ve no idea what I’ll be writing. Hrm.
As for right now, it’s like four hours past my ‘bedtime’, so I’m off

Not too mention the reason you started this blog – details, dammit! We want details!

And frankly, I thought you knew all things Tim Burton. It seemed redundant.

Yeah, but I’m sure for better or for worse, you remember my old diaries – I’d only write on or about days where something interesting happened to me. Not a whole lot of that going on around here.. 😛

I’ve actually got a couple of recent points of interest; it’s just the ‘sitting down & typing them’ parts that I have to attend to..

Have you seen previews for Mirrormask, as well?

Yea, I just heard about the new Burton animation thing a few days ago.

As for the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Eh..I’m a big Gene Wilder fan and, it’s like, with the first, it was *supposed* to be about Charlie, but Wilder simply upstaged him. Here, it looks like it’s about Willy Wonka. Plus, I dunno, Depp just looks heroin creepy, while Wilder was that manic sort of “child lighting his G.I. Joe’s on fire” vibe, which I like much more 😉

That Mirrormask looks so much like a Gaiman/McKean book it’s creepy. I mean, the colours & everything. Should be neat!

Yeah, and with the new ‘Whoever and the Chocolate factory’ film it’s a give & take thing. Gene Wilder was a FREAK (in a good way) in the first movie, but like you said, the original is supposed to be about Charlie. And with the new one, you just say ‘Burton = Quality’, and leave it at that. 🙂
Personally, I like the way Johnny Depp’s Wonka looks like he’s had one too many facelifts..
