Japanese isn’t that bad, all told! Chinese is worse, linguistically speaking. At least Japanese has kana, so that even grade-schoolers can learn what a particular kanji is supposed to mean or how it’s pronounced, but Chinese? Sink or swim, baby.
Thanks for the best wishes! Hopefully one day the four of us can get together, hang out, and do Couples Stuff!
