Consider the Fiat 500 and the Morris Mini Cooper – both similar, yet different. In that vein, another recent Synthetiks-related forum that's cropped up would be the Dollgarden. It may not necessarily have as many features as The Doll Forum, but it's really worth checking out!

The RealDolls Museum. Maintained by Sakai-sensei, this site is more than just an enormous gallery of photos of his 20+ Dolls – yes, you read that right - but he sometimes assembles mini-films featuring any number of his yummy lasses. Ganbatte, Sakai-sensei! 

BACKxFORE (mostly Japanese) showcases the adorable RealDoll Yuka, and the winsome UNISON Superdoll Sakura, in some rather wicked photography and scenarios, and good use of Flash. Well worth a visit or two or five or eight or more

Tanita's World. With her cute & sexy looks, I think the Deutscher Dolls Tanita and Summer will go quite far. Okay, so Tani and I share the same head type, and therefore she looks a bit like me. It's not as if I'm biased or anything..

Doll Coffeeshop. A pleasant site featuring, well, Rebecca, her lad Everhard, her sultry mum Caroline, her leggy aunt Louise, and their close friends Lina and Laura. Their photos have a distinctive and homey 'photo album' feel to them, even the naughty ones

One of the more renowned Dolls from Texas is Darcy Fabbrica, a lass whose last name is almost as screwed up as mine ;-) She and her roomies are quite an eyeful – and more than a bit sarky as well

Redheaded Sarah Marie possesses the kind of traditional Doll beauty that stops traffic, so do be careful when operating heavy machinery round her. How is it possible that she’s as gorgeous as she is?

Another German lass by the name of Vanessa has a well-assembled site of her own. Which fits, as she's a well-assembled lass... It's like every time I see her, she's in bed. She's got the right idea ;-)

Could Jenna Knight be the other famous Doll of the Netherlands? With her sultry looks and warm personality, my magic 8-ball says 'Most likely' 

So who's the first famous Doll of the Netherlands, you excitedly ask? That would be Helen McCullen, of course. Proof positive that a new owner and a change of scenery can do a RealDoll a world of good

Slade, part-time freelancer at Abyss creations, is famous for repairing and reselling Dolls, and his quality work reflects the love he has for Synthetiks. Plus, he’s a bit of a character! Stop round to the Realdoll Doctor! Like medical school, but with much more silicone

Wow, Kunika-type A.I.Doll MaRi has some rather fab site design, but more importantly, she's really kawaii. I can't stop staring at her!

'Mika's page' (Japanese). One of the first Rare-Borg Reonas in existence, she was a very very beautiful doll. Round July of 2001, however, her owner stopped updating her site, as he had, quote, 'disposed' of her :-( Poor lass. Go visit it before it disappears completely

Contender to the Abyss throne, the group formerly known as SynthCreations has risen from the ashes as My Party Doll, and producing the yummy Leeloo model. To say she’s dead sexy is the understatement of the year

The Japanese company known as 4woods is turning heads with the Synthetik companion lines they’re producing. There’s the sexy A.I.Doll, the cute A.I.Sisters, and the trendy A.I.NEO. Plus they’ll export outside of Japan! It’s just like Xmas!

Axis Japan, located in... Japan... seems to have their collective eye set upon both their home and the overseas market, with their gorgeous Honey Dolls line. Multiple models to choose from, delicious sculpting, plus tactile sensors embedded in each breast that trigger .mp3 responses?? I think I've found a new best friend

UNISON is the latest Japanese contender in the field of Dutch wife production. With eight delicious models to choose from, there’s probably one that you’ll fall in love with! But then, why stop with one?

Here's project LEVEL-D, makers of the twee lasses DD-01 Karin and DD-02 Mirei. Both look rather kawaii, soft, and fun, but as they say, 'At present, the sale of the doll to Japan outside doesn't go'. Oh, why not??

Medi Doll, makers of the 'Perfect-Eve Precision Doll'. Meaning she can pinpoint a target up to 50 km away and, using her high-velocity rockets, destroy it completely ;-) I'm kidding, but I really think these girls are darling as well..

The Good People at Kokoro co. Ltd. of Japan, combining with the mighty SANRIO group, are responsible for bringing us the world’s first jaw-droppingly sexy Gynoid, Actroid-san. You can also see her humble beginnings at the Osaka University’s Robotics department, where she had the futuristic names Repliee Q1 and Repliee Q2. There’s a number of clips on that site as well, which, if you’re like me, will fill your knickers with joy ;-)

It’s one thing to right-click and save countless pictures of your favourite Synthetiks from the InfoBahn, but it’s another thing entirely to own a couple of fine coffee table books about them. For instance, there’s ‘Still Lovers’, a lovely monograph by professional photographer Elena Dorfman, and ‘Des poupées et des hommes: Enquête sur l'amour artificiel’ (Dolls and Men: Investigation into Artificial Love), a well-researched (!) non-fiction book by Elisabeth Alexandre. Both books are entirely worthwhile acquisitions for anyone at all intrigued with the concept of artificial companions 

Back in October of 2005, investigative journalist Meghan Laslocky wrote a really stunning piece on Dolls and their owners, entitled ‘Real Dolls: Love in the Age of Silicone’. It was also printed on Salon.com, and if nowt else, it certainly caused a reaction amongst those who read it. The original version linked above is the ‘director’s cut’; meaning it’s unedited by Salon.com, and is a much more coherent version of the article. It’s definitely recommended reading, as it shines a light onto the way some – but not all – iDollators think

When the lad and I aren't doing a photoshoot or rolling around on the floor ;-) we're playing – you guessed it – one of the many games in the Armored core series for the PlayStation2. Mecha combat at its finest! Why not stop by From Software's official Armored core site and learn more about it? 

Now whilst the Armored core series is fast and furious arcade-style mecha battlin’, my lad and I also enjoy playing Tekki for the XBOX, known in the States as Steel battalion. Yes, this would be the infamous mecha simulator with the gigantic controller and the unforgiving playing style. It’s really sadistically fun, honest!
